So, you linked your debit card, bank account to your Cash App account, verify your identity, and everything else. But when you try to attempt to do an instant deposit, Cash App hits you with the message “Your card is not accepting instant deposits.”

But is it Cash App responsible for this failure or your Card? Well, it depends!

Why is my Debit Card not Accepting Instant Deposits on Cash App?

Cash App only supports Mastercard and Visa debit cards issued in the US for instant deposits, and some of the banks may not support instant transactions. So to utilize the Instant Transfer feature, you will need a US bank account and a debit card that support Instant Transfer.

Sometimes a debit cards availability for Instant deposits will be changed. The card network and the issuers make the decision to change your card’s availability for the feature.

According to Square which is the parent company for Cash App, when a card is no longer supported for instant transfer, they do their best and try and bring it back as a supported card, but the choice to be accepted is ultimately left up to the card networks and the card issuers.

Errors for Card not Accepting Instant Deposits

There are some debit cards that don’t consistently support the transaction networks that Cash App uses to send instant funds and in those cases, they are unable to send the money instantly to your bank account.

It also depends on the bank accounts too as Square and Cash App requires a transactional bank account that will allow for deposits and withdrawals.

Check if your debit card linked to your Cash App is a real traditionally bank-issued card by VISA and Master Card as Prepaid cards or online-only accounts such as PayPal, Green dot Card aren’t supported for instant deposit.

Refund for Debit card not Supporting Instant Deposits

If your instant deposit failed due to your card and bank not accepting the instant deposit, and not being able to send the funds instantly, you will be refunded along with the Instant Deposit fees and your deposit be available in your bank account within 1-3 business days.

If you want your money to be refunded in your Cash app account, that is not possible at the moment as they aren’t allowed to pull your deposit back once it has been sent.

In the rare case that if your funds aren’t credited after 3 business days, please Contact Cash App Support regarding the issue.

How to Fix Cash App not accepting instant deposits?

Unfortunately, there is no quick and direct fix solution regarding the error as each case is unique to each other. If it doesn’t accept instant deposits, It might be an error from your bank, your card issuer, or a technical error from Cash App itself.

If it worked before and you have done instant deposits with your account before, maybe try removing the card and only leave the linked bank info to your account.

Wait a few days and don’t do instant transfer in the meantime and try again.

If the issue still persists, you can also uninstall and reinstall the app.

I mean this is pretty obvious, but you can try contacting Cash App customers and see if they can help.

In the quite possible chance that they will blame your bank and told me to talk to your bank manager, double-check and ask if there is any error or problem persisting that is not allowing the Cash App instant deposit to go ahead.

Even Cash App has no guide up for the solution on their website. All the mentioned is that it accepts only Master, VISA for instant deposit and they will refund your money in 1-3 business days if the instant transfer failed.

They don’t give out any specific reason behind the failure of the transaction.

Why is Cash App Card not Accepting Instant Deposits?

Prepaid Cards are not allowed for accepting instant deposits. This means that Credit cards, ATM, PayPal, prepaid bank cards, and Cash App VISA debit cards are not supported. Instant transfer uses a variety of card networks to send the money instantly to accounts.

So, for every of your debit card, both the card issuer network and the bank must be set up to receive the funds instantly.

Hence, your Cash App Card is not supported for accepting instant deposits.

It also seems that Cash App is having some issues with its system integrating with the banks. It is saying the card is not supported even for cards supported in the past and payments not going through for days.

The best option is to contact Cash App and seek help case by case as each problem is different from the other.

How to Send Instant Deposit on Cash App?

To send instant deposit funds from your Cash App to your card and bank account:

  • Open the Cash App on your Phone
  • Visit the “Banking” tab in the bottom-left corner
  • Click on “Cash Balance,”
  • Tap the “Cash Out” option
  • A pop-up menu will display your full balance amount auto-selected for transfer. You can manually type in the amount.
  • After deciding how much you want to transfer, select “Cash Out” at the bottom.
  • A pop-up will show how to deposit the money.
  • Select “Instant” to transfer the money immediately
  • Confirm the transaction with your PIN or Touch ID.

The Instant Deposits to your bank account have a 1.5 percent fee charged according to a company representative.

If you opt for Direct deposits which are free, it can take one to three days, depending on the sender’s bank.

What banks accept instant Deposits and transfers?

Here are a few banks that support Instant Transfer from your Cash App balance to your bank account:
