What is Custom Cash App Card?

Cash Card is Cash App’s custom debit Visa card. It functions like any other Visa card; you can use it to shop at traditional stores, do online shopping, withdraw money from an ATM, and so on.

How to get a Custom Cash App card?

  • Step 2: Choose Cash Card rectangular icon at the bottom of the screen
  • Step 3: Select “GET FREE CASH CARD.”
  • Step 4: Pick your Card Color and tap Continue.
  • Step 5: To sign your Card, select “Tap to customize” your signature.
  • Step 6: Sign your card by writing or drawing, add smiley face in your signature.
  • Step 7: Enter your mailing address.
  • Step 8: Confirm your name.
  • Step 9: Read the details, terms, and conditions and tap done.
  • Step 10: Cash app will prompt that your card number is ready. You should typically receive your Custom Cash App card within the next 10 business days.

What Is Cash Card?

Cash Card is Cash App’s very own Visa-backed debit card, which offers users a convenient way to pay, transfer, and withdraw money. It’s also very straightforward to use.

You see, Cash Card is directly connected to your Cash App balance. So when you use it to make a payment, for example, it takes this money from your Cash App balance at no extra fees.

Another great perk of Cash Card is that it’s free to order and easy to get. You simply launch Cash App, and on your home screen, you’ll find a Cash Card tab. Through it, press “Get Cash Card,” then press “Continue” and follow the steps.

And in five to seven business days, your brand new Cash Card will arrive in the mail, and you use it just as you would any other Visa debit card.

What Are the Advantages of Owning a Debit Card?

We must ask an important question here: why should you own a debit card in the first place, and why shouldn’t you choose a credit card over it?

Here are a few reasons why owning a debit card would be to your advantage.

You Won’t Have to Worry About Debt

Nobody likes falling into debt, but owning a credit card allows you to outspend what you’re earning, so you could very quickly find yourself indebted to your card issuer no matter how hard you try to avoid it.

A few unexpected ways you’d find yourself in debt are medical bills, emergency expenses, and even just typical day-to-day spending, like ordering food and grocery shopping. These things add up.

A debit card charges the money you already have straight from your bank account, so it eliminates the possibility of spending money you don’t own.

You Can Forget About the Credit Card Bill Every Month

Nobody likes bills either, and we’d all like to have fewer bills to deal with. And by opting to use a debit card, you get one less bill to think about at the end of the month.

Debit Cards Allow You to Stay Accountable for Your Spending

Debit cards provide you with a straightforward formula: what you earn is what you spend.

When you know you have a limit to what you can spend, you’ll find yourself more responsible with your money and won’t end up spending your entire paycheck in the first week of the month.

You Won’t Have to Deal With Interest Charges

An interest charge, also known as an interest rate or a finance charge, is the rate charged by the credit issuer to determine how much extra money you owe them, depending on how much you borrowed that month.

The average credit card interest rate is 19% per month, and some even go up to 29%. But with a debit card, you won’t have to worry about extra fees at the end of the month.

What Distinguishes Cash Card From Other Debit Cards?

But what’s so special about Cash Card? And why should you choose it over any other debit card? Let’s find out.

You Have the Ability to Customize Your Cash Card

Instead of the dull, standard debit card, Cash App offers you the ability to customize your debit card’s appearance in any way you want. This allows you to express yourself and put your creativity on display.

Cash Card Is Directly Linked to Your Cash App Balance

You can access all the perks Cash App offers through its services, like quick sending and receiving money anywhere using your directly linked Cash Card.

For example, someone could send you money on Cash App, and you can use these funds the very next second to shop online or make an ATM withdrawal using Cash Card.

Does Cash Card Have a Spending Limit?

If your Cash Card is linked to a standard Cash App account, then you’re going to have some restrictions: you’ll only be able to receive $1,000 a month, and you can’t send more than $250 a week.

But you can always verify your account if you want to loosen these restrictions; a verified Cash App account will allow you to send up to $7,500 a week and completely lift any restrictions on how much you can receive on your account.

Does Cash Card Have an Expiration Date?

Just like any other Visa card, Cash Card has an expiration date. You’ll find it written as a four-digit number on the front of your card. And it works by listing the month and year.

So, for example, if it says 04/23, your card will be deactivated after April 30th of 2023.

Bottom Line

Hopefully, we’ve shed some light on Cash Card for those who didn’t know much about it.

To sum it up, Cash Card is Cash App’s Visa debit card, which functions like any Visa card out there.

However, the main advantage of Cash Card is that you can customize its appearance to your liking and that it’s directly linked to your Cash App balance.
