Wondering if you can combine and add your Gift Card to Cash App. Basically, combine the balances on your various Visa gift cards into one and pay with one funding source as Cash App.

No, you cannot add a Gift Card to Cash App as it doesn’t support Gift based cards. It only supports credit and debit cards from American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. Gift Cards are currently not available as payment options for your Cash App account.

For instance, if you know your Visa gift card balance of $9, it may be hard to use that balance to complete a purchase entirely on that card balance alone.

Alternatively and even worse, you may be left with a dollar or a few cents left on the card and tempted to just throw it away.

Before going that route, we will also show you an alternative option to solve the issue as Cash App is not gonna do that for you (at least for now).

Currently, Cash App doesn’t support Gift cards. However, if it is available in the future,

Alternative Ways to Add a Gift Card to Cash App:

Here are a few alternative options:

Spend it on Amazon

Another option is to spend your Visa gift card balance to purchase an Amazon e-gift card, which can be redeemed on Amazon.com.

You will be able to use your prepaid Visa gift card to make purchases on Amazon, but Amazon doesn’t allow split payments. So, you will need to line up the price of your purchases along with your gift card balance.

Opportunities With Merchants

When shopping in stores, many merchants will allow you to split your payment between two sources in case if one of them needs reimbursement.

If you have an available balance of $4.00 on your card, and your total purchase amount is $5.00, you can ask the cashier if they allow split payments. In most cases, there are no problems, and pay the remainder of the bill with cash or another method of payment.

I know that most of these methods are not exactly smooth as typing in the Card number to redeem, however, it might be one of your only options to get the last bit of money off your gift card.

So, I would suggest it be used directly to pay for bills or purchase items online and in-store.

Conclusion:

Cash App currently straight out has no option to add or link Gift and prepaid card to your Cash App. It will also depend on the type of cards to send funds to your bank account.

Usually, a Visa gift card is a “non-reloadable prepaid” card and can be used like any regular debit card. Every time you make a purchase with the Card, that amount is automatically deducted from the Gift card balance.

When you use them to pay for your purchase, you’re spending your own money and not the banks.

Since there is no direct option to add your Gift Card to Cash App, you can try the alternative methods listed above such as using a money transfer service from PayPal to move your money.
